Aerose – XTC: Track SpoTlight

AEROSE UNVEILS HAUNTINGLY SMOOTH “XTC”:

Metro Vancouver artist, Aerose, takes listeners on a captivating journey with their latest single, “XTC.” The track unfolds as an ethereal soundscape, where reverberating vocals dance alongside meticulous production, creating a captivating contrast.

“XTC” marks a sonic evolution for Aerose, showcasing their ability to craft music that is both hauntingly beautiful and undeniably smooth. From the layered vocals to the echoing ad-libs, every element is meticulously placed, resulting in what might be their most refined and captivating work yet.

We recently had the opportunity to chat with Aerose about their creative process and the inspiration behind the track in a quick bite sized form. We hope you enjoy!

IF YOU COULD GIVE US ONE STORY FROM THE STUDIO SESSION THAT LED TO THIS TRACK WHAT WOULD IT BE?

It’s funny the original demo for XTC was actually recorded on bandlab in about 30 minutes with apple headphones in my room. After I finished recording at home I remember telling myself “I’ve gotta bring this to the studio.”

During the studio session right before the recording of XTC, I put on Wasted Times by The Weeknd to really set the vibe. I remember me and my bros all singing and dancing along to Wasted Times. That moment was super memorable and I feel like it really helped me lock in for the recording of XTC.

I’M FINDING IT MORE DIFFICULT THAN EVER TRYING TO MAP THE GENRES CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS ARE DABBLING IN. WHERE WOULD YOU PLACE YOUR CURRENT SOUNDSCAPE? OR WOULD YOU PLACE IT SOMEWHERE AT ALL?

I’d say that all of my releases from 2023 to now all fit into the Dark RnB genre. But honestly I wouldn’t label myself as just a Dark RnB artist and put myself in a box.

I’m someone who listens to many different artists and genres so I’d say my music that’s released and my unreleased is a collection of my experiences and emotions from within. You’ll see exactly what I mean by this in the near future.

Ultimately I’d say that as an artist my goal is to express myself to the best of my ability and connect with my supporters, let them know they aren’t alone and help them get through whatever challenges they’re facing with my music. I want my music to create a universe in it of itself.

THE MELODIC LAYERS, AND OVERALL BEAT BLEW ME AWAY. ANY INFO FOR THE BLOG ON WHO PRODUCED THE TRACK, AND WHETHER WE’LL HEAR THE COLLABORATION GOING FORWARD?

Thank you brother, that really means a lot to me. XTC was produced by talented producers VIKTHEVILLAIN and soundsbysammy and mixed and mastered by my bro mixedbymaclean

I originally found both Vik and Sammy on Youtube when I was searching for beats. My first collaboration with them was on my Track “Turn Off the Lights” which is one of my favourite songs I’ve released so far.

Once I heard the beat to XTC I was inspired and I knew exactly how I was going to execute this track while recording it. I knew I wanted it to sound and feel dark and intoxicating but at the same time, energetic and alluring.

WHAT ELSE ARE WE IN STORE FOR IN 2024?

I don’t want to say much but for 2024 expect much more from me. There’s always a story behind everything and everyone. Just know that I’ve always been right here…
